Cinnamon Walnut Zucchini Bread
A pair of tender zucchini loaves spiced with cinnamon and studded with nuts. Two 9x5 pans out of one bowl, from Rose's tin box.
Piña Colada Cake
A poke cake soaked with sweetened condensed milk and cream of coconut, topped with a pecan-and-coconut Cool Whip. From a handwritten card in Grandma Rose's collection.
7 Up Sheet Cake
A tender yellow cake made with a can of 7 Up and topped with a hot pineapple coconut frosting poured over while the cake is still warm.

Old-Fashioned Cocoa Brownies
Grandma Rose's one-bowl cocoa brownies. Made with oil instead of butter and stirred by hand with a metal spoon. About half an hour from start to finish.
Pineapple Coconut Cake Frosting
A cooked frosting of eggs, sugar, butter, crushed pineapple, and coconut. Poured hot over the 7 Up cake straight out of the oven.

The family behind the recipes
Who Rose was
Rose kept her recipes in a tin box on the shelf above the flour bin. Most were written on the backs of feed store receipts. A few came from her mother, more came from neighbors, and the rest she worked out on her own over the years.
